When Edward Belden was in college, he had the idea to merge his love of ice cream with his appreciation for the environment. So he built an ice cream maker on the back of an adult tricycle, using pedaling to power a machine that normally requires a sizable amount of electricity. His business Peddlars Creamery launched in April, and an eco-friendly store is scheduled to open in downtown Los Angeles in November.
